Hawaii Workforce Development Council

The Hawaii Workforce Development Council, like many states, is grappling with the challenge of skilled workers shortages in health care. To build collaborations needed to expand the talent pipeline in the healthcare workforce, Hawaii’s workforce leadership turn to a combination of Skills Panels and Strategic Doing. Skills Panels represent an innovation developed by the State of Washington to bring together the employers with educators to design larger and more flexible career pathways.

Here’s a video in which Stephen Lee explains the value he sees in combining Skills Panels with Strategivc Doing.

The Workforce Development Council issued a report on their work. It explains their approach more fully. You can download a copy of the skills panel report here.
