Strategic Doing is based on a set of principles that express why its practitioners do what they do. Our work spans geographies, cultures, political parties, and sectors – but is guided by a core set of beliefs about the importance and potential of collaborative action to change our organizations, our communities, and our society. Adopted by the Strategic Doing ‘core team’ at a retreat in 2011, we share them as a statement of conviction about the important work we can do together:
- We believe we have a responsibility to build a prosperous sustainable future for ourselves and future generations.
- No individual, organization or place can build that future alone.
- Open, honest, focused and caring collaboration among diverse participants is the path to accomplishing clear, valuable, shared outcomes.
- We believe in doing, not just talking – and in behavior in alignment with our beliefs.
