Strategic Doing Practitioner Training: Leading Complex Collaborations – University of North Alabama

Take part in 2.5 days of engaged learning and join an active, national network of Strategic Doing practitioners. This course will help you design and implement strategy using Strategic Doing, an adaptable process to rapidly build complex collaborations and leverage them to move toward measurable outcomes. Explore this new approach to strategy, learn why it works and how to adapt it to your setting by designing and leading Strategic Doing workshops. Create and guide sophisticated collaborations, find new opportunities and quickly take action, and lead strategies without relying on a “command and control” structure.
We use a simulation for the first two days of the training – you’ll be learning Strategic Doing by doing it – as well as plenty of time for unpacking why it works so you can make it your own. On the last half-day, you’ll have time to consider how to start using Strategic Doing to approach your own challenges, and get assistance from the instructors as well as your peers. Participants receive a copy of the book: Strategic Doing: Ten Skills for Agile Leadership (Wiley, 2019), a workbook, as well as access to an online library of resources.
Who should attend? Anyone who does work in which no one can (really) tell others what to do. Companies, nonprofit organizations, universities, regional collaborations, government agencies, faith communities – all have sent participants to this training to help them face complex challenges where new approaches are needed. If you’re tired of endless planning meetings that never seem to lead to impact – there is a different way to “do more together.”
