Third Thursday: An Introduction to Design Thinking

January 21 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

Third Thursdays are a monthly gathering open to anyone interested in Strategic Doing. Topics vary monthly (and we’re always open to suggestions); the session is one hour long and usually includes a short presentation, time for Q&A or breakout group work, and updates on upcoming trainings and new resources available through the website. Registration is required. (Note: for those seeking re-certification as SD workshop leaders, Third Thursdays help fulfill your re-certification requirements).

For January, we return to a topic of great interest when we sampled it in November: design thinking. Three skilled design thinkers (two teach design thinking, and the third uses it extensively in his work) will provide a hands-on orientation to some of the key concepts in design thinking. We’ll reserve some time for talking about points of connection with Strategic Doing and what next steps might be for those interested in exploring further.

Presenters:

  • José Lugo, University of Puerto Rico (SD Practitioner)
  • John Morley, currently identifying his next adventure after several years in the high tech world (SD Practitioner)
  • Mary Raber, Michigan Technological University (SD Practitioner)
