Tim Franklin Explores Shared Rotational Leadership and Coaching
In this session, Tim will unpack his insights on leadership, coaching, and guiding, exploring how distributed relationships can transform leadership into a shared, rotational practice. read more
In his engaging September 6th Friday Talk, “Unpacking Tim Franklin’s Journey as a SD Sr. Fellow,” Tim touched very briefly on leadership, coaching, and guiding topics deferring to say more because time was too short to do these important topics justice. Well, Tim has been asked back to share more on coaching, guiding, and leadership, including providing a deeper dive on his notion about a form of distributed leadership that he calls “shared, rotational leadership.” Ed Morrison’s reaction: “Shared, rotational leadership is a powerful reframing. Both complexity leadership and dialogic organizational development are too theoretical to be practical. Tim’s insights might really lead to a new understanding of what distributed leadership really means.” Please join on October 4th and add value to this novel leadership concept during our break out discussions. Help us bring shared rotational leadership to life for Strategic Doing. It will be a second interesting session with Tim.

What would it look like if 90% of the strategic plans succeeded?
Join us in our Monday Talk to share your insights on planning challenges and your vision for a better process. Nancy and Kathy want your input to shape the new Strategic Directioning course, which builds on years of successful planning. read more
We have all heard the statistics. Yes, 70% of organizational plans fail. Yet, most colleges and universities require a grand strategic plan to satisfy accrediting organizations, grant funders, foundations and donors. In addition, with each leadership change there is often the desire to establish a new strategic vision. Join us for the upcoming Strategic Doing talk where Fellows Nancy Franklin and Kathy Opp discuss the practice of Strategic Directioning. This new course incorporates many of the principles of Strategic Doing into the development of large-scale plans. It is based on many years of successfully guiding organizations through plans and into action.
